Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Happy Tails Dog Sitting, we understand that plans can change. This policy outlines our cancellation requirements and refund procedures.

Cancellation Requirements

To ensure we can adjust our schedule and potentially serve other customers, we require advance notice for cancellations:

24-Hour Cancellation Policy

  • Cancel more than 24 hours before service: Full refund (100%) of your booking fee
  • Cancel less than 24 hours before service: No refund - you will be charged 100% of the booking fee

The 24-hour period is calculated from the scheduled start time of your service. For example, if your service is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM on Friday, you must cancel by 3:00 PM on Thursday to receive a full refund.

How to Cancel Your Booking

To cancel a booking, please contact us as soon as possible:

Please provide your name, booking reference (if available), and scheduled service dates. We will confirm your cancellation and process any applicable refund within 5-7 business days.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method used for booking (typically your credit or debit card via Stripe). Please allow 5-7 business days for the refund to appear in your account, though it may take longer depending on your bank or card issuer.

Service Cancellations by Happy Tails

In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel or reschedule your service due to emergencies, severe weather, illness, or other unforeseen events. If we must cancel your confirmed booking, you will receive a full refund (100%) of your booking fee. We will make every effort to provide as much advance notice as possible and help you find alternative arrangements if needed.

No-Show Policy

If our pet sitter arrives at your scheduled service time and is unable to access your home due to incorrect access information, unavailable keys, or other issues on your end, this will be considered a no-show. No-shows are not eligible for refunds. We recommend double-checking all access instructions and emergency contact information when booking.

Modifying Your Booking

If you need to change your service dates or other booking details (rather than cancel completely), please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate changes based on availability. The 24-hour cancellation policy applies if you need to shorten your booking period.

Payment Disputes

If you believe you were charged incorrectly or have questions about a charge, please contact us directly before initiating a dispute with your bank or card issuer. We are committed to resolving any billing issues promptly and fairly. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, and you may also contact Stripe support for payment-related questions.

Emergency Situations

We understand that genuine emergencies happen. If you must cancel due to a family emergency, hospitalization, or other extraordinary circumstances, please contact us to discuss your situation. While we cannot guarantee exceptions to our cancellation policy, we will consider each case individually and work with you in good faith.
